Pra Pregnancy Vitamins – It’s never too early to start caring for your baby and there’s no better time to start everything that now – before the preconception, before pregnancy occurs. Nothing is easier or smarter than taking a vitamin before pregnancy.
Daily vitamin consumption can convince your body that it has important nutrients that future infants will need and that the next pregnancy will be a healthy pregnancy. Especially if you are taking vitamins now, then events like nausea and vomiting during the first trimester of pregnancy will be reduced!
If the reasons are lacking, think about this: some pre-pregnancy support vitamins can increase fertility or fertility – something you would expect. Here are some ways to choose the best vitamin for your pre-pregnancy period:
1. Check the supplement label
Look for vitamins that have at least 400 mcg of folic acid (or vitamin B9). Eating the most important nutrients for pregnancy, either before or during the initial period, significantly reduces the chances of a baby suffering from neutral-tube defects or birth defects due to imperfect growth and development of the neural tube system during fetal life, for example, spina bifida.

If you do not get enough calcium from milk, yogurt, or other foods rich in calcium (because you need 1,000 mg per day), make sure your vitamins are able to provide it. Iron also includes important minerals in the period before birth, and you need about 30 – 40 mg.
If you have anemia, consult a doctor to see if you need a higher dose. Do not forget to check out other important nutrients such as zinc and manganese (for fertility), iodine for brain development and prospective thyroid, and vitamin B6 to reduce morning sickness.
If you are a vegetarian or vegan during pregnancy, make sure you are really diligent and careful when choosing a supplement with the right nutritional content.
2. Make sure your supplements are easily soluble
Some pre-natal supplements do not dissolve quickly after drinking. That is, the nutrients contained in the supplement will pass just like that in the body without being processed. Do this test at home: put your supplement in a cup containing vinegar (half course) and stir for about 5 minutes.
In less than 30 minutes (or 45 minutes, if your supplement contains strong gelatin or wrapping), your pills or supplements should dissolve or, at least, separate into smaller particles.
3. Make sure you are able to digest it
If you have trouble swallowing it, replace the supplement with another supplement that has a finer wrapping capsule. Pills without calcium tend to be smaller (because calcium takes up more space) if you are interested in trying it but make sure you get this mineral in other ways.
Pre-pregnancy supplements that can be chewed are also your choice; just do not expect good taste. If you feel most gas or difficult bowel movements (constipation) after taking these supplements, such effects appear because of the iron content in supplements. Consult your doctor for other alternatives.
4. Do not consume it excessively
Too much vitamin consumption is also not good. Stay on the recommended dosage and do not take any extra supplements without your doctor’s knowledge or prescription. Consult your doctor if you are taking herbal supplements because not all herbal supplements are safe to eat when you are trying to conceive.
